Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? Take a look at our frequently asked questions below. We also have FAQs specifically for those who have bought our Family Season Passes and Groupons. If you have any additional questions, please call us at: 651-227-1100 or toll free 800-543-3908

How far out should I make reservations?

We recommend making reservations as soon as you know the date you’d like to cruise with us. Our cruises do tend to sell out quickly and we would hate for you to be left out on your preferred date! Visit our Public Cruise Calendar.

Do the boats sail in inclement weather?

We sail rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, it is up to the captain of the boat to make the decision on whether to leave at the designated time, or to wait a few moments while the storm passes over. All areas where food is served are enclosed, as well as heated and air conditioned, so you will definitely stay dry and comfortable!

Do you have a dress code?

We do not have a dress code. Our customers dress in everything from casual to formal. We encourage everyone to dress based on the situation they are celebrating.

Are you handicapped accessible?

Because of their unique design and regulatory characteristics, excursion vessels are not subject to the ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (ADAAG). With that said we make every reasonable effort to assist and accommodate passengers with special needs. We do provide ADA accessibility to our facility and vessels, however Coast Guard regulations require water barriers (raised thresholds in doorways). All vessels are multi-deck and are not fitted with rail lifts or elevators. Restrooms on the Anson Northrup and Betsey Northrup are outfitted with grab bars and are useable by persons with special needs. The restrooms on the Jonathan Padelford, built in 1969 are not large enough to accommodate wheelchairs.

Where will we go on our cruise?

It all depends on the length of your cruise. On our 1.5 hour sightseeing cruise we head towards Fort Snelling. On a 4 hour Lock and Lunch Cruise we make our way through the Ford Lock and Dam, turn around by the Lake Street Bridge and then come back down river. All of our cruises provide the best viewing possible of the St. Paul/Mississippi River National Park and Recreation Area.

Is smoking allowed on the boat?

Smoking is allowed on the outside decks only. No smoking is allowed anywhere in the interior cabins.

Are drinks included with a dinner cruise?

Coffee is included with all of our public meal cruises. A cash bar is available on all cruises for purchase of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Do you have an address?

Because we are located on the river, we do not have an address; however, if you enter 205 Dr. Justus Ohage Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55107, this should get you to the top of Plato Blvd. Once you have reached this point (you will be at a “T” in the road) take a right and follow the road down into our parking lot.
