Jonathan Padelford - 1969

Padelford Riverboats began with a single vessel, the Jonathan Padelford. Built in 1969 at Dubuque Boat and Boiler Co., Dubuque, IA, the Padelford is an authentic sternwheeler although the traditional steam propulsion system has been replaced by a safer, highly efficient hydraulic pressure system. The all-steel vessel is named for the tenth great maternal grandfather of Capt. William D. Bowell, Sr., founder of the Padelford Packet Boat Co.
