Anson Northrup

Anson Northrup

This vessel was named after the Minnesota pioneer who operated one of the first boats above St. Anthony Falls. The Anson Northrup was designed to fit under the low bridges in Minneapolis and started service in 1988. The side-wheeler’s overall height had to be kept under 22 feet because of the low bridges in that area of the river. It is 92 ft long and 33 ft wide. The Anson can be coupled with the Betsey Northrup to double the capacity.
