FAQs

Have a question? Take a look at our frequently asked questions (FAQs) below. We also have specific FAQs for those who have bought our family season passes and Groupon passes. If you have any additional questions, please call us at 651-227-1100 or contact us online.

How far out should I make reservations?

We recommend making reservations as soon as you know the date you’d like to cruise with us. Our cruises do tend to sell out quickly, and we would hate for you to be left out on your preferred date!

Do the boats sail in inclement weather?

We sail rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, it is up to the captain of the boat to make the decision on whether to leave at the designated time or to wait a few moments while the storm passes over. All areas where food is served are enclosed, as well as heated and air-conditioned, so you will definitely stay dry and comfortable!

Do you have a dress code?

We do not have a dress code. Our customers dress in everything from casual to formal. We encourage everyone to dress based on the situation they are celebrating.

Are you accessible for the physically disabled?

Because of their unique design and regulatory characteristics, excursion vessels are not subject to the ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (ADAAG). With that said, we make every reasonable effort to assist and accommodate passengers with special needs. We do provide ADA accessibility to our facility and vessels; however, Coast Guard regulations require water barriers (raised thresholds in doorways). All vessels are multi-deck and are not fitted with rail lifts or elevators. Restrooms on the Anson Northrup and Betsey Northrup are outfitted with grab bars and are useable by persons with special needs. The restrooms on the Jonathan Padelford, built in 1969, are not large enough to accommodate wheelchairs.

Where will we go on our cruise?

It all depends on the length of your cruise. On our 1.5-hour Sightseeing Cruise, we head towards Fort Snelling. On a 4-hour Lock & Lunch Cruise, we make our way through the Lock and Dam No. 1, turn around by the Lake Street Bridge, and then come back down river. All of our cruises provide the best viewing possible of the St. Paul/Mississippi River National Park and Recreation Area.

Is smoking allowed on the boat?

Smoking is allowed on the outside decks only. No smoking is allowed anywhere in the interior cabins.

Are drinks included with a dinner cruise?

Coffee is included with all of our public meal cruises. A cash bar is available on all cruises for purchase of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Do you have an address?

Yes we do! 205 Dr. Justus Ohage Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55107, this will get you to the top of Plato Blvd. Once you have reached this point (you will be at a “T” in the road), take a right, and follow the road down into the parking lot.

Is there parking?

Yes. The Harriet Island west parking lot is adjacent to our facility. It is a free public lot that is available to our guests as well as people enjoying the park and Harriet Island Pavilion. Additional parking is available on Water Street or Lilydale Road. During special events on Harriet Island, a portion of the lot is reserved for our guests.
